We are down to three names and like these. Please note, our last name is irish (similar to O’Toole or O’Hara). For the three, we would probably go with nicknames such as Rain (Rainie), Rev (River) or Laddy (London). Thank you for your help.

Regarded as the world’s oldest scientific zoo, this natural escapade in the modern suburbs is a great place to indulge the mind and eye for some knowledge about the wildlife and nature. Located near the Regent’s Park, London Zoo is now operated by the Zoological Society of London.

The zoo’s history dates back to as far as 27th of April 1828, the date where the zoo is officially open for scientific studies. Now spanning around nearly 36 acres, London Zoo is home for a collection of 755 species of animals and nearly 15000 individuals. The Gift of Experience; Christmas

Mar-13-2010 By admin

Perhaps your dad would prefer something a little more memorable than a woolly jumper this year? In an age where people are looking for the ultimate gift, more and more are turning away from the traditional Christmas kitsch, and instead giving the gift of memories to friends and families rather than just material possessions.

Gift experiences can cover a vast range of activities, which means that there is a suitable experience for everyone, from toddlers to teenagers, young guys to grannies, mothers and babies; there are even gift experiments tailored especially for couples or for the entire family.

If you’re buying for a adrenaline-seeker you have plenty of choice as there are now hundreds of experiences which are bound to suit even the most hardened action man; paintball, white water rafting, a day’s go-karting or bob-sleighing; even a microlight flight. The price of gift experiences can cost as little as £25, but can go up to several thousands of pounds for the most unusual and extravagant events.

Basic activities such as paintball are a great value option, but if you’re really looking to impress, a complete package can be built that encompass some very special experiences. How about a helicopter tour over London, or hiring a Harley Davidson motorbike for the day? Perhaps you’d prefer to drive a Ferrari or an Apache Off-Road Racer, or take to the sky in a Champagne Balloon flight?

But Christmas gift experiences aren’t just for the boys. Ladies will enjoy spa and pampering days, photo makeovers, even the chance to design your own handbag. And who says that the girls won’t enjoy a day on the race track too?

There can also be a potential environmental benefit to giving a gift experience rather than material possessions. With an experience there tends to be no wasted wrapping paper or unwanted packaging, and your gift won’t just ending up stuffed into the back of a cupboard, never to see the light of day again. Saying that – a fast and furious driving experience or a ride in a fighter plane is likely to come with a significant carbon footprint, but you can of course select greener experiences if you wish.

So – this Christmas, why not give a memory, (rather than a pair of socks) to your friends and family, and join the growing trend of gifting experiences.

Can anyone advise me the best way to tour the area and it’s attractions at a reasonable cost. For example internal flights, hotels/hostels. Is there an all in package deal on the market for what I am looking for? If anyone has experienced this I would like to hear your views and advice on the matter.
My starting point will be Sydney.
Thanks.

Ross Fisher Hopes to Make History

Mar-13-2010 By admin

Ross Fisher will be aiming to become the first player since English compatriot Lee Westwood nine years ago to successfully defend The European Open title when the tournament returns to The London Golf Club in Kent from May 28 to -31.

Fisher held off the challenge of Sergio Garcia and Graeme McDowell at the Ash venue last year and completed an emphatic seven stroke victory, despite contemplating withdrawing from the event at the beginning of the week due to fatigue.

Fisher, who uses a Titleist 905R driver, Titleist 659MB irons and Titleist Pro V1x balls, is keen to repay the loyal home galleries with a strong defence of his crown.

“It’s going to be tremendous to go back to The London golf clubs to defend my title,” said Fisher, who is based at Wentworth Club.

“Hopefully I can put in a strong performance and make a good defence. It would be great to follow in the footsteps of someone like Lee and successfully defend the title but to do so I will need to play really well because it will be another very strong field. I will have to be on top of my game.

“The course suits my eye though. To shoot a 63 in the first round, having not seen the course before, shows that. I had a lot of family and friends there last year and I think quite a few more will be coming down again so I’m really looking forward to it.

“There was a tremendous amount of support for me and to win in front of a home crowd was amazing – it was such a great week,” he said.

“It’s always nice to do well in your home country. To win is always a massive thing on The European Tour but to win The European Open was even more satisfying because it was against such a star studded field and because of the manner in which I did it. It was a tremendous achievement.

“To beat Sergio by seven shots is some achievement and I played some great golf with my golf equipment that week. It was probably the closest to perfection I’ve been with my game.

“It almost didn’t happen because I was quite tired at the start of the week and I was close to pulling out but with it being so close to home I decided not to. I went to Wimbledon on the Tuesday to watch the tennis and didn’t play a practice round so I didn’t expect much but I had a remarkable start with the course record and just went on from there. It sounds incredible when you’ve won by seven against such a strong field but I feel like I could have won by even more.”

Fisher followed his European Open title by finishing sixth on 2008 money list and came close to landing another title when he was involved in a three-man play-off in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews in October.

The 32nd edition of The European Open will be staged at The London Golf Club, close to Brands Hatch in North Kent, for the second consecutive year after successfully returning to England last year for the first time since 1994 following 13 years at The K Club in Ireland.

The current hit album “The E.N.D.” is probably the best album by Black eyed peas ever since Fergie joined them and gave the two biggest-selling digital songs of 2009, “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling.” Even after ten months of the album’s release, the hit singles haven’t stopped. “Imma Be” the topping single on the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart. Fergie said, “We were very inspired by the electro scene. We wanted to make a dance album. It was exciting, but also a risk. We weren’t trying to re-create the past flavor of the other records.” She added. She said further that “The E.N.D” tour will be a suitably oversize pop extravaganza, it’s so big”. She said, “It just feels so monstrous, the stage and all the costume changes and everything.” Get your Discount Black Eye Peas Tickets before they sold out.  While recording for the 2003 album “Elephunk,” William called in Fergie to sing on “Shut Up” and “the rest is history”. That history includes the hits, such as “My Humps” (album “Monkey Business”, 2005) and “London Bridge” (from her solo album “The Dutchess”, 2006). She has also played a meaty role in “Planet Terror”, 2007and “Nine”, released last year. Now, she’ll be voicing Jessica the collie in an animated adaptation of the “Marmaduke” comic strip. Talking on the phone from the Jacksonville, Fla., which is a stop on the Peas’ tour for last year’s hit “The E.N.D.”, Stacy tells about her encounter with William and the rest of the story, When the girl band Wild Orchid with which she worked for 11 years without much success was breaking up in 2003, Stacy Fergie met William at some radio show in Los Angeles. She says,” I approached him backstage in the hall, as you do when you’re trying to get your hustle on.”Fergie is 34 in age and is married to actor Josh Duhamel. She is of Irish, Scottish, and Mexican heritage and she had started as a child actor on “Kids Incorporated” and voiced characters on Charlie Brown TV cartoons. She confesses her love for the band before she was a part of it saying, “I was a huge fan of theirs before ever working with them,” and “I always loved that they were a live band with a hip-hop flavor.”Singer Stacy Ferguson had joined the black eyed peas in 2003, and featured in the international hit “where is the Love?” along with Justin Timberlake and the blacked eye peas shot up to chart top. Before that, they were less successful commercially and had an image of a politically conscious alt-rap band.
