“Madonna’s Confessions tour produced 440 tonnes of CO2 in four months of last year. And that was just the flights between the countries, not taking into account the truckloads of equipment needed, the power to stage such a show and the transport of all the thousands of fans getting to the gigs.
The average a British person produces is 10 tonnes a year,” said John Buckley, managing director-of CarbonFootprint.com.
Its the “Do As I Say and Not As I Do” mentality.

I don’t think it is okay for stars or anyone else to destroy the environment. I think we should all have the awareness that the ecology is a fragile thing and we should all do our part to keep the earth in good order. I can hope she makes people more aware of the environment in her concerts. We live in a world of hurry up and convenience. All those things cost us not so much in terms of money, but also in terms of the environment. Extra vehicles emit extra gasses, etc.
Because they think they can get away with anything because they’re rich. And they’re not too far off, because whenever they do something stupid people just shake their heads and grumble but attribute it to the stress of being famous. Strange, isn’t it?

While I agree that many in Hollywood do not practice what they preach, there are a few exceptions that are environmentally responsible. What I don’t understand is why people still pay any attention at all to the hypocrites in any aspect of their lives.

If she was the only person to cause this production of CO2, that would be one thing. On the other hand, as a Republican, I can’t believe how you didn’t praise her for her contribution to the economy by employing the 100 technicians, dancers, backing singers, managers, etc. George Bush would have been proud of her for her contribution in stimulating the economy, why aren’t you.
